Delta Squad Philosophy
I believe the reason we choose to join clans is to play games in ways that we couldn't if we were alone. The primary purpose of this clan is similar to many: to play with others at a high level. However, we aren't concerned as much with raw performance in battle as we are with taking a deep dive into teamwork. The intricacies of tracking the enemy team's movement, spawn location, and weapon preferences to plan a dynamic response present far greater depth than working to improve individual skill. To us, it is much more fun to talk tactics after a match rather than how to improve shot placement. The way that we play Halo: Reach is fundamentally different than the vast majority of others as it is closer in nature to a match of Halo: Wars. First, we teach you to hide in order to slow the pace of the match to a crawl, then to track as to stay hidden by avoiding the enemy team, and finally to strike all at once. The hiding is necessary in order to give us time to think and plan, but at a high level, it becomes unnecessary. Playing like this might be slower, but it is incredibly satisfying.
Different play styles are required for different game modes, however. Above is Delta Squad's approach to 4v4 Team Slayer and Team Tactical on maps like Reflection and Sword Base, but BTB requires a much louder strategy more reliant on control over weapons and vehicles, for example. The one similarity between all of Delta Squad's strategies is that they require a level of teamwork that can only be achieved through intense and frequent training with one another followed by an equally intense analysis of each session. However, lethality on the battlefield to provide the best possible support to our allies is only half of our total concerns. The others are more focused on facilitating a positive experience for the gamers that decide to participate in my organization and our impact on The Halo Community. This is addressed by our various recreational activities and public relations department which strives to find and help those which we are in a position to assist, befriend or both.
