Initiation
After requesting to join, you will be contacted by a recruiter. Once in contact, you will find a date and time where you are both available to begin "try-outs."
The Delta Squad Primary Evaluation Battery dubbed "try-outs" is a multistage assessment designed to test an applicant's ability to process tactical information, dynamically respond to difficulties in executing team strategies, work under pressure, move and engage in a logical manner, and their performance in various other areas of requirement to the squad. In addition to the testing phase, the battery includes instructional elements which not only serves to educate an applicant on standard squad procedures, but also measures their reception to the instruction that they receive by testing them on the curriculum they learned as a later part of the evaluation.
Not many pass, but you are allowed unlimited attempts and hold recruit status for the duration of your evaluation which entitles you to play with the squad in all unofficial activities. Attendance in engagements with opposing clans and meetings with allies or unknown actors, however, are privileges afforded only to official members.
If you manage to complete "try-outs," you will have taken your first step in the process of actually being added to the clan. You now get to have your profile photo taken for the database. For this image, any armor can be selected, but it becomes your unique uniform for your time with our clan. If you would like your uniform to contain armor pieces you haven't yet unlocked, someone who has the pieces you want can stand in for you in the photo. Additionally, you can wear another piece of armor in the interim before you unlock your real set, granted the substitute also remains static. This photo can be taken on any map, in any pose, use your imagination.
Next, you will select your unique identifier which consists of a letter and two numbers. For example: "A17." Not much more to say about this one.
After that, you will be able to select any specializations that interest you. Your experience in the squad can differ greatly depending on the teams or roles you select. Specializations can be swapped at any time, so you don't have to worry about picking the wrong path up front.
Finally, based on your score from the evaluation battery your starting rank is selected. This is done so that when processing classes of recruits they can easily be organized into a logical chain of command based on their aptitude up front.
Each of these items will be added to your database profile, and once it is created and the required fields are filled in: (Picture, ID, Roles, and Rank), you are officially in the Squad.

Progression
Your rate of progress in the Squad's ranking system is contingent upon numerous areas including your skill, maturity, how active you are, and your level of contribution to the unit, which can come in many forms. Each of these areas are of value to the squad, so outstanding performance in one can make up for deficiency in others. If you manage to tick all of the boxes you can expect to rank up quickly. The actual standards are a hybrid of numerical requirements and areas which are up to the discretion of the officer, as things like tactical prowess are not quite compatible with rigid itemization.
The linear ranking system is only where the central administrative power lies; bear in mind that the most influence can be obtained the fastest by excelling within numerous specializations concurrently.

Activities
The Delta Squad engages in numerous activities to keep everyone sharp. Chief among them is engagements with other organizations on the behalf of our allies, a practice we call "combat support." Providing this assistance to our allies allows us to more effectively network and engage with the Halo Clan Community. Next in order of importance, is training. We host multiple training programs designed to improve performance in nearly every activity one might encounter in Halo Reach from forging to map control. Extensive instructional literature is available on each map and game mode featured in Halo: Reach, for example. Finally, recreational activities are pursued with similar intensity. Our resident Griffball team trains incessantly and we frequently go over strategies on all manner of popular custom game types.
